- Top-grain leather – More pliable and thinner, this is still a high-quality type. The surface is sanded and a finish coat is added. It is slightly more stain resistant than full-grain and often more readily available.
- Genuine leather – Made from leftovers from high quality leather projects, genuine leather is lower quality but still real leather. This type of leather is nice but does not last nearly as long as its higher quality counterparts.
- Corrected-grain leather – A special type of leather that has been corrected by experienced leatherworkers to improve functionality and aesthetic look. An artificial grain is also embossed on top using stains or dyes. This type of leather is readily available and a more affordable option.
